AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT INSURANCE AND EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Our approach is not solely geared toward the medical model of disease or illness. Instead of focusing on what's wrong or labeling you, we prefer to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you find solutions to challenges. However, if you want your health insurance to be billed for services, this requires that you have a mental health diagnosis, which becomes a permanent part of your medical record. In this electronic age, you should be aware that we cannot protect your private information once an outside party is billed for services. In addition, many health plans have high deductibles and co-payments, and they have limits on how much and what type of services they will cover (for example, they do NOT cover life coaching). For these reasons and more, we are providers for only a very few health insurance plans. Upon request, we will provide you a statement of your out-of-pocket payments for you to submit to a health plan for possible reimbursement. If you do choose to try using your Employee Assistance Program or health insurance plan, you are responsible for any and all amounts not covered by or denied by these third-party payers.
