AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MEDICAL INSURANCE AND EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Our approach is not solely geared toward the medical model of disease or illness. Instead of focusing on what's wrong or labeling you, we prefer to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you find solutions to challenges. However, if you do want your medical insurance to be billed for services, this requires that you have a mental health diagnosis, which becomes a permanent part of your medical record, and that you be treated using the medical model. In this electronic age, you should be aware that we cannot guarantee the protection of your private information once an outside party is billed for services. In addition, many medical insurance plans have high deductibles and co-payments, and they have limits on how much and what type of services they will cover (for example, they do NOT cover career counseling, personal growth counseling, or life coaching). For these reasons and more, we are providers for only a very few third party payers. Upon request, we will provide you a statement of your out-of-pocket payments for you to submit for possible reimbursement. If you do choose to try using your Employee Assistance Program or medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any and all amounts not covered by or denied by these third-party payers.
